Following Shaka’s message, Chief Executive of Show Racism the Red Card, Ged Grebby, shares:

Everyone involved in Show Racism the Red Card are shocked at the racist riots that have engulfed the UK since the horrific murders in Southport and the loss of those 3 innocent children.

The Far Right attacks we have seen, amount to not only riots, but attempted murder.

Racism has been on the rise in the UK for over 14 years thanks to the media and politicians constantly scapegoating immigrants. Islamophobia has also been used to try and divide us.

Show Racism the Red Card are now in discussions with the Trade Union movement about combatting the Far Right.

The Government must act quickly to protect our communities from far right attacks. We also need to change the narrative on migration and start explaining the hugely positive role immigration plays in the UK.

Let’s come together and redouble our efforts to SHOW RACISM THE RED CARD.

Mish Rahman, the Chair of Show Racism the Red Card’s Board of Trustees, adds:

The strength and spirit in our communities will not be broken by those spreading fear, hatred, division and misinformation.

Show Racism The Red Card recognises the threat of the far right and will continue to work to challenge racism through empowering role models within communities, organisations, and sports, in order to dismantle racism in society
